2. Terms of Service
By booking a technical service, scheduling a residential doorstep pickup, or commissioning a custom computer assembly, you explicitly agree to follow and be bound by these legal terms.
2.1 Workshop Operations & Pricing
LaunchLayer Ltd supplies professional out-of-warranty diagnostic testing, hardware component replacement arrays, malware sanitation loops, custom computer configuration builds, and small business IT consulting frameworks.
2.2 Invoicing, Tax & Payment Gateways
- We accept on-site card processing via secure SumUp mobile readers (supporting major debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) or online payment processing via FreeAgent invoice gateways.
- All initial workshop diagnostics are provided 100% free of charge.
- LaunchLayer Ltd is a VAT-registered business. All consumer repair estimates include VAT at the standard UK rate. Commercial B2B solutions will be issued with fully compliant FreeAgent VAT invoices for company tax deduction processing.
2.3 Custom PC Builds & Sourced Hardware Components
When commissioning a custom system assembly or component upgrade, individual hardware components (GPUs, CPUs, motherboards, etc.) are sourced specifically for your project. LaunchLayer Ltd reserves the absolute right to request a component deposit payment prior to purchasing specialized parts from our logistics distributors.
2.4 Liability & Data Allocation Responsibility
While our workshop takes extreme technical precautions to isolate and preserve your files, the customer bears sole responsibility for maintaining a secure, verified backup of all information prior to scheduling any diagnostic or component hardware upgrade. LaunchLayer Ltd is not legally liable for system data loss during bench configurations unless directly caused by our proven negligence.
Indirect Losses: LaunchLayer Ltd is not legally responsible for indirect operational losses, commercial downtime, or business delivery logistics delays entirely outside our reasonable sphere of control (such as regional internet infrastructure drops or distributor stock allocation errors).
2.5 Governing Law
These terms and all operational workshop agreements are governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales.
3. Component Warranties & Cancellations
We want you to have absolute confidence in every technical configuration that leaves our Glebe Road workshop bench.
- 12-Month Hardware Guarantee: All brand-new components sourced and installed by LaunchLayer Ltd (including replacement laptop screens, internal batteries, SSD upgrades, and power supply units) are backed by a complete 12-month workshop warranty covering component failure.
- Custom Build Cancellations: For custom gaming rigs or business setups, once components have been ordered from our suppliers and unsealed for assembly, cancellation requests will be subject to a restock fee dictated by our parts distributors.
- Faulty Component Goods: If an installed part demonstrates a manufacturing failure within its warranty lifecycle, it will be repaired, swapped, or refunded at absolutely zero bench cost or transit labor fees to you.
This return framework does not alter, diminish, or affect your statutory consumer rights under UK law.
